Duet Vibe from Vibratex

Last week I received my first review assignment from EdenFantasys!  They were kind enough to send me the Duet vibrating cock ring so that I could tell you all about it.

What it is:

The Duet is a vibrating cock ring made by Vibratex.  It is made out of elastomer, which is very stretchy and pthalate-free.  It has two hard-plastic vibrators: a standard on/off bullet on the bottom, and a two-mode bullet on the top (more on this in a bit).  Both vibrators are covered by the elastomer sleeve, which has soft nubs for extra stimulation.  It appears to be water resistant (I would use this while bangin’ in the shower) but not waterproof (I would NOT use this while bangin’ in the hot tub).  The bullets come out of the elastomer sleeve for further cleaning and battery replacement.  Both bullets each take two standard LR1130 batteries (also known as 189 or AG10 batteries).  Vibratex helpfully includes a full set of four replacement batteries and a small information sheet about usage and care.

First impressions:

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Duet comes in its own, hard, clear-plastic box that is reusable for storage.  Once I took it out of the box, I was also surprised to feel how very soft and stretchy the ring was.  It was a pleasure just to squish between my fingers!  T was sitting next to me as I was playing with it, so I decided to test out the contact function of the top vibe by pressing it against his neck:  “Look!  It buzzes!”  The contact function worked; he was not terribly amused.

Actual performance:

When I said that this thing was stretchy, I wasn’t joking.  You should have no troubles at all getting this thing over and around your (or your partner’s) package:

T was willing to help me test it out, but a bit skeptical about putting a stretchy band around his junk.  Once it was on and the lower bullet was buzzing away under his balls, however, he found it to be very pleasant.

The first time we tried it out we found it a bit difficult to get properly positioned.  We started out in missionary, but the contact function wasn’t working.  We moved the ring so that it was just around his shaft and tried again.  Nothing.  I turned the top vibe on so that it would be vibrating constantly and found it to be pleasant but not anywhere near strong or constant enough to get me close to orgasm.  Eventually we kind of gave up on it; we turned the top vibe off, put the bottom vibe back behind his balls, switched to doggie-style, and I grabbed a pocket rocket and got myself off that way instead.

With further use, we’ve found it to be a little more helpful.  The contact function still does very little for me, but I’ve found that I enjoy the constant vibration mode while rubbing my clit against the ring when I’m on top.  I’m still learning about how my body best reacts to the Duet, so I haven’t gotten off from it yet, but I have definitely gotten close.

I like to take things apart, so I took apart the Duet just for fun.  Both vibes come out easily, and getting them apart to change the batteries is also no problem.  I found getting the vibes back in to be a bit more challenging, though.  It felt a little bit like putting on a wetsuit, but not quite as difficult (the Duet is MUCH stretchier than neoprene!).  Note: the sleeve already has an indentation for the button on the top vibe built in, so when you are putting it back into the sleeve you have to be careful about lining it up properly.

The Duet washes off easily with soap and water.  It is elastomer, so that means that it can’t be fully sterilized: this vibe should only be used by you and your partner; no sharing with anyone else!  The instructions that Vibratex included with the Duet state that it should not be stored in contact with any kind of vinyl.  It should not be difficult to store apart from other toys as it comes with such a great storage box!

The bottom line:

The Duet is a lot of fun.  T likes the vibrations on his balls, and I like the extra stimulation during sex.  I have yet to get off from it, but I have a feeling that it’ll happen with practice.  It seems well-made and durable, and I look forward to many more hours of fun with this toy.  Many thanks to the people over at EdenFantasys.
